Metsola joined 228 others for the performance, which took place over the long weekend in the central Polish city of Łódź.
"Ode to Joy" was the musical highlight of the Great European Picnic, a public event in the main square of Łódź's Manufaktura shopping and cultural complex.
A judge from the Polish Records Office, Elżbieta Olszewska, confirmed that the 229-person choir had set a national record for the most people simultaneously singing the European anthem, state news agency PAP reported.

Metsola praised the event, calling it a beautiful expression of what community truly means and what Europe sounds like at its best.
The celebration on Friday was briefly disrupted by a handful of demonstrators from the far-right All-Polish Youth group, who unfurled a banner and chanted anti-EU slogans in support of a "national Poland," the PAP news agency reported.
The Great European Picnic event was held to promote EU values and projects co-financed by the bloc.
It also aimed to spread awareness of the benefits of EU funds for Poland and its regions, officials said.
Earlier that day, Metsola met with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw and received an honorary doctorate from the Łódź University of Technology.
The university recognized her "steadfast commitment to strengthening the European community," as well as her work in defence of human rights, the rule of law and European integration.
Metsola's visit came shortly before the end of Poland’s six-month presidency of the Council of the European Union.
"For the past six months, Poland has driven Europe forward with courage and clarity," she said during a brief statement.
Poland has held the rotating EU presidency since January 1 and will continue in the role until June 30.
It is the country’s second time at the EU's helm, after previously presiding in the second half of 2011.
